Join us:-

The band would like to hear from more people who think they would like to join our 'merry band of minstrals'.:

For further information  on joining us, either write to us direct via HernPaul@aol.com or go to the  'Contact Us' page link on the left or telephone 01684 562426

See Calendar for dates of full band practice sessions. As band members live far and wide, we try where possible to have a number of local practice centres in addition to 'all'meeting together periodically.

The following is an extract of why one of the band members joined: -

When you get to a certain age, thoughts inevitably turn to happy days of the past. The Boys' Brigade was an important element in my youth, providing the guidance, support, friendship and training which helped to shape me in my formative years. One of the best aspects was playing in the bugle band. What a brilliant idea, therefore, to form a band of those enthusiastic old boys who remember with gratitude what the BB did for them, and who would like to put a little something back. Thank you, Stedfast Association, for giving me the chance to play and march again! (Ian T ex 1st Thurso & 73rd London )

PHOENIX CHALLENGE

How you can be ahead of the game - It would be great if we could inspire (and perhaps help and/or provide advice) individuals and small groups of old friends into resurrecting old BB (and GB) Bugle Bands especially in cases where the Company has folded too; and put on some kind of a display. The display could be a small local event (perhaps have a Old Boy's/Girl's Renuion) or perhaps aim a little higher and join others in similar situation and participate in something (in addition to local event) on a larger scale.

The best publicity tool you can have, is showing/performing to people - and the BB's best recruiting tool for many years was its Bugle Band.......... so if you interested in what this challenge is about,  contact us now and you never know we might even be able to resurrect some Companies along the way

This challenge is open to anyone aged 18 and over, male or female..... who was in a Company in the UK mainland
